I don't have the answer now nor any likely situation is happening to me right now. Let's the answer be anonymous cause I'm sure I will take a lifetime to figure out and even if I decide it now, someday I will regret the decision I made. It's never easy when you get a question like this and it going to be linked with your life.
But "Who would I like Charlie St. Cloud (Zac Efron) to choose - his brother or the girl he likes? And why?"

Not because you can find other love but it's because that you can't trade a love of a family with anything else. Imagine yourself in a situation where you only get this one in a lifetime experience to either appreciate it or regret it. Charlie St. Cloud only had that period of time to fulfill the promise that he made four years earlier. It would be must more easier for him to let go of his past by fulfilling that promise he made rather than living in regret later on. His brother, Sam only have Charlie to talk to and he is the only person that can sees him. If not for Charlie, who else?
A love might be hard to find but if that girl (Tess) really love him, she should support him and understand him. That's relationship, I believe. Granted, both parties believe the same thing too. It's all about accepting, understanding and supporting. Things in life might not go the way we want, there's challenge to overcome and decision to make.
